The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, November 16, released its Rajasthan poll manifesto in Jaipur promising various initiatives for women and farmers.
The manifesto for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly election was released in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda at the event along with the other BJP leaders including former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
“The Congress party became known for five things in five years. These are corruption, disrespect of women, and neglected farmers. This is the state where the rate of electricity is highest and petrol and diesel have the highest VAT. The number of paper leaks that happened here has broken records,” said Nadda addressing the media, reported India Today.
The BJP president also mentioned that the party wants to form a double-engine government in the state, to which the recently released manifesto will work as a “roadmap of development.”
In its poll manifesto, the BJP made big promises for farmers, women and students. Here are the major poll promises made by the BJP:
Increased MSP for Wheat Procurement
The BJP has promised in the manifesto to purchase wheat from farmers at a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2,800 per quintal, which is significantly higher than the current MSP of ₹2,015 per quintal on wheat.

Compensation on Land Acquisition
The BJP has mentioned in the manifesto to work out a comprehensive compensation plan for the farmers whose land has been acquired for various projects. This issue has been a major issue of discontent among the farmers in the state.
Anti-Romeo Squads
To ensure the safety of women, the BJP has promised to establish Anti-Romeo Squads in every district of the state. These squads will be directed to patrol in public places and act against eve-teasers and harassers.
Lado Protsahan Yojana
The BJP has announced an initiative for the well-being of daughters. Under the scheme, a savings bond of ₹2 lakh to every household for every newborn daughter. This bond will mature when the daughter reaches the age of 18 years.
Free Scooty scheme for students
The BJP has promised to provide a Free Scooty Scheme for the meritorious students who are pursuing higher education. This scheme will provide scooters to deserving students to help with their transportation needs.
Subsidy to Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries
BJP has promised to increase the subsidy for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries to ₹950, while currently it is ₹500. This will serve as a major relief to low-income households who use LPG cylinders.
Boosting tourism
The BJP has mentioned setting up a ₹2,000 crore corpus fund to promote tourism with the aim of generating employment opportunities for the youth in Rajasthan.
