Priyanka Gandhi lashes out at Modi govt over continuing violence in Manipur
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra lashed out at the Modi government over the continuing violence in Manipur for the last eight months. Recently, four people were killed in the northeast state while curfew has been enforced in many districts.

Raising the issue on X, formerly Twitter, she wrote, "Four people were killed in Manipur. Many people are injured, there is curfew in many districts. The people of Manipur have been facing murder, violence and destruction for eight months. When will this trend stop?"
She added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not give time to a joint delegation of leaders of all the parties of Manipur for a meeting. "Neither did he go to Manipur, nor talked about Manipur, nor replied in Parliament, nor took any action. Is this the leadership Manipur needs, or is the power of advertisements enough to make it sound great!"
She said that the Centre should take concrete steps to bring stability in the state.

According to the government officials, on Monday, some cadres of the banned People's Liberation Army (PLA) arrived at the house of a person, who has several narcotics cases pending against him. Within minutes, hundreds of people gathered outside the house of the suspected narcotic dealer in Lilong Chingjao village, 15 kms from the Thoubal district headquarters, and chased away the PLA cadres.
While on the run, the PLA cadres opened indiscriminate fire at the locals, killing four, and injuring a few others.
