Parliament Budget Session: 17th Lok Sabha discusses Ram Mandir
The Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha on Saturday held discussions on the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The Budget session, the last of the 17th Lok Sabha, started on January 31 and will conclude on Saturday.

According to reports, the Parliament will pass a resolution thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ‘pran pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at a temple in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya.
On Friday, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) issued a three-line whip, directing all its MPs to be present in both Houses on Saturday. Initiating the discussion in Lok Sabha, BJP MP Satya Pal Singh said that Lord Ram belongs to everyone and not just Hindus alone.
He further accused the Congress of questioning the existence of Lord Ram, evoking a sharp reaction from the Opposition benches.
“Where there is Ram, there is religion...those who destroy Dharma, are killed and those who protect Dharma, are protected. Congress is in this situation in this country today because they rejected Lord Ram at that time,” Singh said.
Meanwhile, in Rajya Sabha, a discussion also took place on the "White Paper on the Indian Economy" and its impact on people's lives.
According to ANI, in Lok Sabha, the motion was brought under Rule 193 and moved by BJP MPs Satya Pal Singh, Pratap Chandra Sarangi, and Santosh Pande, while in the Upper House of the Parliament, the motion was brought under Rule 176 and moved by BJP MPs K Laxman, Sudhanshu Trivedi, and Rakesh Sinha.
The Budget Session of Parliament was scheduled to conclude on Friday, February 9, but extended by a day.
The ‘pran pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony at the temple in Ayodhya was held on January 22.
Post the grand opening of the temple, the Union Cabinet passed a resolution expressing its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the successful organisation of the ceremony in the temple town in Uttar Pradesh.
Its resolution stated that the dream that Indian civilisation had seen for the past several centuries was fulfilled now.
While addressing the media, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that PM Modi has raised the morale of the country with his work and strengthened its cultural confidence.
