Lok Sabha suspension spree hits century mark as 3 more Opptn MPs face disciplinary action

With this, now 146 MPs remain suspended from both houses in Parliament for the remainder of the winter session. 100 MPs have been suspended from the Lok Sabha and 46 MPs from the Rajya Sabha.

The Lok Sabha on Thursday, December 21, suspended three more MPs of Opposition amid the ongoing suspension spree in the Parliament. The names included Congress' DK Suresh, Nakul Nath and Deepak Baij.

With this the number of suspended MPs from both houses in Parliament now stands at 146, for the remainder of the winter session. 100 MPs have been suspended from the Lok Sabha and 46 MPs from the Rajya Sabha.
On Wednesday, two Opposition MPs — Thomas Chazhikadan and AM Ariff were suspended from the Lok Sabha for "displaying placards and entering the Well of the House."
Notably, the suspension spree started on December 15 as the Opposition is adamant on the statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the security breach incident in Lok Sabha on December 13.
Fourteen MPs including five from Congress were suspended on December 14 for the remainder of Winter Session of Parliament. These MPs were: Congress — TN Prathapan, Hibi Eden, S Jothimani, Ramya Haridas, Dean Kuriakose, Benny Behanan, VK Sreekandan, Mohammad Jawed and Manickam Tagore; DMK — Kanimozhi, SR Parthiban; CPI-M — PR Natarajan, S Venkatesan and CPI — K Subbarayan.
On December 18, 78 Parliamentarians were suspended including 45 MPs from Lok Sabha and 33 MPs from Rajya Sabha. In continuation, on the third day of the suspension spree on December 19, as many as 49 MPs were suspended from the lower house. Also, 27 queries by suspended MPs were deleted from the Lok Sabha question list.
