News18, on March 13, unveiled India’s largest opinion poll ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due by May. The polls predict the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance to win 28 seats out of 29 in Madhya Pradesh, while the INDIA bloc is seen winning one seat.
In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, the BJP won 28 out of 29 seats, while Indian National Congress won one seat.
The News18 opinion poll was conducted across 518 constituencies and engaged over one lakh respondents. The vote share of NDA is seen at 55%, while that of INDIA bloc is 38%. Others are likely to have a vote share of 7%.
According to the survey, out of 7,014 respondents in the state, 83% believe that the economic conditions have improved as compared to five years ago, while 12% believe that the conditions haven't changed. While 2% couldn't say, 3% responded believe that the conditions have worsened.
Out of 4,462 respondents from the state who vote for BJP, 89% said they vote for the party because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while 8% said that Prime Minister is not the reason. 69% of the respondents believe that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is a symbol of national pride and unity, while 18% don't agree.
The dates for this year's Lok Sabha elections are yet to be announced. In 2019, the previous elections, the voting took place in seven phases between April 11 to May 19.
