Haryana assembly elections 2019: Rahul Gandhi to replace Sonia as speaker at Mahendragarh rally today
Interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi will not address the election rally in Haryana's Mahendragarh on Friday, and will be replaced by Rahul Gandhi as the speaker there, the party said.

Sonia Gandhi had not campaigned in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections due to her ill health. This was to be her first rally after returning as interim Congress president.
The party had even released a detailed programme, which said she will address a public meeting at Government College Khel Parisar in Mahendragarh on Friday.
However, she will not be able to attend it due to her poor health, said a party source.
"Rahul Gandhi will be addressing the public meeting at Mahendragarh at 2 p.m.," the party said.
Haryana goes to polls with Maharashtra on October 21.
In Mahendragarh district the Congress scored zero in the 2014 Assembly elections.
Former Congress MLA Rao Dan Singh is pitted against the BJP's Ram Bilas Sharma who defeated Singh in 2014 here. But from 2000 to 2009, Rao Dan Singh had been elected for the assembly from this seat.
The other two seats of Ateli and Narnaul were also won by the BJP in 2014.
Sonia Gandhi did not campaign in 2019 general elections due to ill health. She had confined herself to Rae Bareli.
She was scheduled to address a joint rally with Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra but there is no official word on it so far.
