The ongoing crisis in the agrarian sector of the country need to be discussed in a special parliament session, said Swaraj Abhiyan’s Avik Saha. Speaking about the protest Saha said that the farmers are not trying to put political pressure on the centre. The leader also added that loan waivers should not be treated as sops but in fact go hand in hand with rise in remuneration.

Thousands of farmers are heading to the Ramlila ground in Delhi raising various demands including higher crop prices and farm loan waivers. The farmers are marching in from Nizamuddin, Sabzi Mandi Station, Anand Vihar Terminal and Majnu Ka Tila.
While Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj India is leading a 'Chalo Dilli' rally from Bijwasan to Ramlila Maidan, that has been joined by farmers from Odisha, Haryana, Rajasthan.Two special trains carrying farmers, one from Maharashtra's Miraj and other from Bengaluru, were expected to reach Delhi later in the day.
The farmers will congregate at the Ramlila ground by 8 pm.
AIKCC has proposed introduction of two bills in the parliament as private member bills, i.e. Farmer Freedom for Indebtedness Bill 2018 and Farmers right to unwarranted Remunerative MSP for Agri commodities Bill 2018.
The farmers who arrived from across the country will march to Parliament Street tomorrow. Led by the AIKSCC, the #KisanMuktiMarch is gaining support from all sections of the population including students.

A group of farmers from Tamil Nadu arrived on Thursday for the two-day kisan rally in Delhi, carrying skulls of two of their colleagues who had committed suicide and threatening to march naked if they are not allowed to go to Parliament on Friday. About 1,200 members of the National South Indian River Interlinking Agriculturalists Association reached the national capital in the early hours of Thursday, said their leader P Ayyakannu. He said he was expecting more farmers affiliated with his association to arrive from Trichy and Karur. He said their main demands include removal of all farmer loans, profitable price for their agricultural products and a Rs 5,000 pension for farmers per month.
The farmer leader and his associates are carrying two human skulls. which they claimed were of their two colleagues who ended their lives because they were unable to replay their debts. "Our main agricultural activities include paddy cultivation, cotton farming, horticultural activities like coconut cultivation, banana cultivation. More than 700 farmers have committed suicide in Tamil Nadu due to loans that they could not repay. We have no water and have been suffering from drought like situations for the last five years. This year, too, we suffered due to storms.
"Tomorrow, we will stage naked protests if police stop us from going to Parliament," he said. The 20 women farmers in his group will not be part of the naked protests, he clarified. Last year, the group staged protests at Jantar Mantar with the skulls of eight farmers who killed themselves owing to farm losses.(PTI)

Thursday’s march is scheduled to begin from the Ramlila Maidan ground, New Delhi to Parliament Street, while on Friday the march will begin from four different points in Delhi. The farmers plan to gather at four locations on the outskirts of Delhi, from where they will march into the capital and arrive at Ramlila Maidan by Thursday evening. The AIKSCC along with leaders of political parties will address the gathering. On Friday, the farmers will move towards Parliament Street located in the heart of the capital.

The AIKSCC was formed in June 2017, and represents 208 farmers associations together from different parts of the country. In the past 18 months, the movement has gathered momentum in the shape of Kisan Mukti marches in various states, leading up to the march to Parliament in Delhi on November 30.
The trigger was a June 2017 farmers’ agitation in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. Six people died in the midst of violence and police shootings. This was followed by spontaneous farmer agitations in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
