The results of exit polls confirm that the political momentum is with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said Anil Padmanabhan of Mint on Monday.
"This exit poll confirms to me at a macro level one fundamental thing that the political momentum is with the BJP," Padmanabhan told CNBC-TV18.
Padmanabhan, along with Surjit Bhalla, chairman of Oxus Investments, Roshan Kishore, editor at Hindustan Times, Arun Giri, election analyst, Alok Prasanna, senior resident fellow at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and Subir Bhowmik, senior journalist and political analyst, discussed the exit poll numbers with CNBC-TV18.
Talking about Uttar Pradesh exit polls numbers, Bhalla said, "All the opinion polls are suggesting that there is a 4-5 percentage points swing in favour of the BJP. "
Talking about West Bengal, Bhowmik said, "...here politicians have very little faith on these (exit polls) and as far as the West Bengal's projections are concerned, six people are saying six different things... people like me who have long experience of reporting in West Bengal - despite the inroads that the BJP has made... it is much more hype than the real."
