For the last 10 years, the people of Rajasthan have voted for only the Bharatiya Janata Party from all the 25 Lok Sabha seats. The state has a distinction of not letting the incumbent return to power in the state.

The saffron party also won the recently concluded Assembly polls in the state. The Congress too has a history of doing well in the state elections, winning alternate polls in recent decades.
The state will vote in two phases - April 19 and April 26 — in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Here's an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of BJP and Congress.
BJP

          • Weaknesses
            • The constant fight between Gehlot and Pilot over power has sapped the party's strength.
            • The party's organisational structure and booth management could not match BJP's.

              • The Congress will try to cash in on dissatisfaction in the Gurjar community, which feels it has not got the representation it deserved in the state's new BJP government
              • Regional parties like Rashtriya Loktantrik Party and Bharat Adivasi Party could form an alliance with the Congress
              • Threats
