The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received 93 percent of all donations of above Rs 20,000 made to the country's six national political parties in 2017-18 by business groups and individuals, reported Business Standard.
Corporates donated nearly 12 times more money to the BJP than to the other six national parties combined in the last financial year, the newspaper said citing a report by election watchdog Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
Corporate donations formed nearly 92 percent of the total donations declared by the BJP, said the report.
Another interesting finding by the report was the fact that donations to BJP peaked during the months of September, October, November and December of 2017, that is in the run-up to the Assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.
