Bihar seat-sharing: BJP to contest for 17 seats, JD(U) gets 16

Bihar seat-sharing: BJP to contest for 17 seats, JD(U) gets 16
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Monday, March 18, announced its seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde announced on Monday, March 18. According to the announcement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest for 17 seats, while Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) will field candidates in 16 constituencies.

The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), led by late Ram Vilas Paswan’s son Chirag, has been allotted 5 seats. Additionally, NDA allies including Upendra Kushwaha of the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha will each contest one seat.
As per the announcement, BJP will contest in seats including Paschim Champaran, East Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, Araria, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saharsa, Ujiarpur, Begusarai, Navada, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Sasaram.
Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) will field candidates for the Valmikinagar, Sitamarhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Sheohar seats.
The five seats for which LJP will contest include Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagaria and Jamui, while Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party will field its candidates from Gaya and Karakat constituencies, respectively.
