The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) unveiled its second batch of candidates for the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Assembly election on April 19, adding nine more names to its roster. This latest announcement brings the party's total candidates to 17 out of the 60-member Assembly. Previously, on March 11, the NCP had disclosed the initial list comprising eight candidates.
The newly revealed candidates are: Toko Tatung (Yachuli), Tahan Mibang (Rumgong), Kabang Taron (Tuting-Yingkiong), Tapi Gao (Pasighat West), Likha Soni (Lekang), Nikh Kamin (Bordumsa-Diyun), Yangsen Matey (Khonsa West), Jowang Hosai (Borduria-Bogapani), and Holai Wangsa (Pongchau-Wakka).
Previously announced candidates include the likes of Likha Saaya, the party's state unit president contesting from Namsai, and former minister Tapang Taloh from Pangin-Boleng.
Sanjay Prajapati, the coordinator cum observer for North East states, emphasized NCP's manifesto, which aims at fostering prosperity, preserving indigenous identity, and enhancing the education system for the people of the state.
