AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Tuesday condemned DMK leader Udayanidhi Stalin's remark on the Sanatan Dharma.
"I am from Sanatan Dharma. I condemn and oppose such statements. Such kind of statements should not be made. One should stay away from making such remarks on any religion. We should respect all religions," Chadha said.
He, however, defended the newly formed opposition alliance, in which both AAP and DMK is part of by saying statements made by some "small" leader from any party cannot be considered the official stand.
Son of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin stoked a controversy earlier this month by likening Sanatana Dharma to coronavirus, malaria and dengue and had said such things should not be opposed but destroyed.
He later issued his clarification later on, saying BJP leaders were "twisting" his statements and that he will face all the cases filed against him legally.
He said, "Thiru Modi and co are using the Sanatana ploy to divert the attention from the facts including the killing of more than 250 people in the riots incited in Manipur and the Rs 7.5 lakh crore."
