49 Oppn MPs suspended from Lok Sabha today; 141 Parliamentarians out in three days

Till Monday, 92 MPs were suspended with 78 Parliamentarians being suspended on December 18 itself. On December 15, 14 MPs — 13 from Lok Sabha and one from Rajya Sabha were suspended.

On suspension of 92 Opposition MPs, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram says, "Do they want an Opposition-less Parliament? Is this what they are working towards?"

At the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Board Meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "In the coming days, no matter whether others are participating or not, we must participate in the Parliament. Some of the Bills which are to be taken up are of great importance. We should listen to discussion on them. It would have been good if the opposition would have participated in debates on them. But perhaps good deeds are not in their fortune."

The Opposition MPs created uproar in the Parliament over the security breach incident in the Lok Sabha on December 13. They are demanding a statement from PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over the incident.
