The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Saturday, March 16, announced its candidates for 24 out of 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.
The announcement was made at the 'samadhi' (grave) of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in the presence of party chief and CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district.
Besides the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party also released a list for the Assembly polls in the poll-bound state.
During the 2019 general elections, the YSRCP registered a landslide victory by winning 22 of the 25 seats in the state. The N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) managed to get three seats, while other parties like BJP and Congress failed to open their account in the southern state.
Last time, the state witnessed a total voter turnout of 80.38%. While YSRCP received a 49.89% vote share, TDP could manage 40.19% only.
This year, the BJP is contesting the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in alliance with TDP and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party in Andhra Pradesh.

As per the official list of the party, former Lok Sabha MP B Jhansi Laxmi will contest from the Visakhapatnam seat, while G Uma Bala will be the YSRCP candidate in Narasapuram and V Vijayasai Reddy will try his luck from Nellore. Incumbent MP Y S Avinash Reddy will contest from the Kadapa seat.

Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha elections: Pre-poll survey
According to the News18 Mega Opinion Poll, Andhra Pradesh is expected to give a majority to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) this time as it is expected to win 18 seats in the state.
YSRCP is expected to get seven seats, while the Congress-led INDIA bloc will end up without opening its account, the pre-poll survey predicted.
Further, it has predicted 50% vote share for the NDA, 41% for YSRCP, 6% for INDIA bloc and 3% for others.
