Ahead of the observance of Thanksgiving, the Chairperson of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett, on Tuesday donated nearly $870 million (approx. ₹7,250 crore) to four of his family foundations. Buffett donated 1.5 million Class B shares of Berkshire Hathaway to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation. The foundation is named after his late first wife, Reuters reported quoting a regulatory filing by the company. The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation works in the field of reproductive health. Besides, another part of the donation involved 9,00,000 Class B shares, divided equally among the charities run by his children, Howard, Susan, and Peter. The donations supplement the Berkshire shares worth $759 million that Buffett donated to the charities during the same period last year ahead of the US Thanksgiving Day holiday, the report added. However, Brin later clarified that the shares were donated to charity. He has also been funding Parkinson's research and has donated $1.1 billion, as per Forbes.

Azim Premji | Former chairman of the board of directors of Wipro, Azim Premji and family has been ranked at the second position following Shiv Nadar and Family in the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2023. The 78-year-old businessman has reportedly donated over ₹1,770 crore in a year.
Mukesh Ambani | India’s richest man and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has donated ₹376 crore in 2023. According to the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List, the business tycoon majorly channelled the donations through Reliance Foundation for the charity organisations working in the field of health and education.
