vivo X100 & X100 Pro | Launching on January 4, the vivo X100 series will be the first to feature MediaTek’s latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9300. It boasts a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The highlight of the series is its camera setup — the X100 houses a 50MP main lens, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide with a 119-degree field of view, while the X100 Pro boasts a 50MP 1-inch primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP telephoto camera with up to 100x digital zoom. Vivo also claims that the X100 Pro is “expertly calibrated” for sunrise and sunset shots. On the front is a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calls on both the devices.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra | Set for a January 18 launch, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to receive some of the biggest upgrades in the series including a major AI bump, making it Samsung’s first “Generative AI” phone. The upcoming flagship is also rumoured to feature a titanium frame, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro models that came out this year, a flatter display, 40% slimmer bezels compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra and a smaller hole-punch cutout for the front camera.

OnePlus 12 | The OnePlus 12, at the company’s 10th-anniversary smartphone, will release in India on January 23. The OnePlus 12 boasts Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a Sony LYT-808 imaging sensor, and a 2K resolution AMOLED screen. The OnePlus 12 will sport the same camera system that was seen on the OnePlus Open — a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP periscope lens with 3x telephoto zoom, with a 13-channel multi-spectral sensor. On the front, users get a 32MP selfie camera. Its younger sibling, the OnePlus 12R, will also make its debut on the same day.

Redmi Note 13 Pro series | Releasing on January 4, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ and Pro boast a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED display, featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits. The devices also sport a 200-megapixel main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP macro camera, as well as a front-facing 16-megapixel camera. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ offers three variants: 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and another 16GB + 512GB configuration. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is available in an array of options, ranging from 8GB + 128GB to 16GB + 512GB.

Apple Wearables | 2024 will be the year of wearables for Apple, while the iPhone will likely take a back seat in terms of major development. In his newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that the Apple Vision Pro will not be the only product that the company will focus on this year. The AirPods, which are long due for an upgrade, along with the Apple Watch, are likely to take centre stage in the coming year.
