SUMMARY

India's biggest-ever auction of spectrum that carries telephone and internet data signals, began on July 26 with a total of 72 GHz (gigahertz) of 5G airwaves worth Rs 4.3 lakh crore on offer. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 5G services in India during the inauguration of the Indian Mobile Congress in Delhi on Saturday morning. Here’s a look at the evolution of cellular networks from 1G to 5G.
