The test was conducted to demonstrate whether the crew could safely escape the rocket in case it malfunctioned.  ISRO Chief said that the initial mission's lift-off was impeded by engine ignition issues but assured that the errors were meticulously identified and rectified, paving the way for the second launch attempt, scheduled for 10:00 Hrs on the same day.

According to Isro's website, the Indian navy would be waiting at a safe distance with a ship and a team of divers who will recover the module and bring it safely back to shore.
