Candidates with the biggest victory margins in the Delhi Assembly elections

SUMMARY

Aam Aadmi Party won for the second consecutive landslide win in the Delhi Assembly election. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party secured an unprecedented 67 of the 70 seats in the 2015 polls and this time it won in 62 seats. AAP’s closest contender, the Bharatiya Janata Party, won in eight constituencies. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has already addressed the party members and congratulated them for their efforts in the lead up to the polls. Several of the AAP candidates won by over 15,000 votes against their nearest rivals. Here are some:

Imran Hussain (Ballimaran): Close to two-thirds of the Ballimaran voters had chosen AAP’s Hussain as their representative. He got 65,644 votes, which is about 35,000 more than BJP’s Lata, who was a distant second with 29.03 percent vote share.

Pralad Singh Sawhney (Chandni Chowk): Sawhney had tallied over two-thirds of the Chandni Chowk votes. In comparison, the BJP’s Suman Kumar Jha had 27.6 percent of the votes.
