ELSS Mutual Funds: Here are top 10 schemes in terms of 1-year returns

SUMMARY

Equity Linked Saving Scheme (ELSS) is one of the most popular investment vehicles where you have dual benefits of saving tax and investing in equities. ELSS mutual funds have large exposure to equities and are tend to give higher returns in the long term. It is important to note here that long terms equity gains are taxable from April 2018. In June, Indian benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE’s Nifty 50 fell 0.8 percent and 1.12 percent, respectively. According to Value Research data, Kotak Tax Saver Regular Plan and Mirae Asset Tax Saver Fund - Regular Plan are among the top five ELSS funds that gave over 10 percent return in one year.
