As part of the 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' initiative, the NHAI has emphasised the importance of timely KYC updates to ensure a seamless toll payment experience on national highways. Whether someone owns a commercial vehicle or a private one, he/should act now to avoid any disruptions in the electronic toll collection system.
The FASTag, utilising Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, simplifies toll tax payments automatically deducted from the linked bank account. This initiative aims to enhance efficiency and curb the distribution of FASTags without proper KYC verification.
Failure to update KYC details by January 31 may result in the deactivation of the FASTag account. This means vehicle owners should stay informed and be compliant to ensure a hassle-free experience on national highways.
The documents required for updating KYC on FASTags are a vehicle registration certificate, driver's license, identity proof such as a PAN, voter’s ID Card, address proof such as Aadhaar Card, passport and passport-size photographs.
To update KYC on FASTags, users should visit the official website of the bank-linked/issued authority and log in using the registered mobile number. Users should then navigate to the "My Profile" section, click on the 'KYC' sub-section and update all necessary fields by attaching mandatory documents.
Vehicle owners can verify the status of KYC by logging in through the same bank-linked/issued authority of FASTag or the official FASTag website: https://fastag.ihmcl.com. They should further use their registered mobile numbers and follow the password/OTP-based validation process.
