SUMMARY

Indian shares extended losses in the afternoon session on Thursday, dragged by financial and metal stocks. Global sentiment also remained muted as hopes of a US-China trade deal on the sidelines of the G20 meeting later this month dimmed. At 12.42 pm, the 30-share BSE index was trading 277 points, or 0.57 percent, lower at 39,530. The broader 50-share NSE Nifty was at 11,835.20, down 71 points or 0.60 percent.
