For visiting malls in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, after the lockdown measures are relaxed, people will have to follow mandatory safety and hygiene norms set by the respective malls. Visitors will be required to have the Aarogya Setu app installed in their phones, which will have to display the green sign. Alongside, they will have to go through thermal screening, oximeter check and will have to pass through sanitizing tunnels installed at entrances. Keeping the safety of customers as well the staff at priority, malls are already undergoing sanitization drives at regular intervals. Viviana Mall in Thane has put in place UV boxes at the entry points in order to scan the bags of people. The mall has also installed UV towers inside the mall for disinfecting the coronavirus prone areas. The UV tower facility will be used during the hours when the mall is closed for public use. Social distancing markers will be one visible aspect across all malls. Floor stickers are placed on the ground to maintain six-feet distance between individuals. Also, these floor stickers will help in the unidirectional flow of people inside the malls. There will also be a limit on people going inside a particular shop and waiting customers will be made to stand outside on social distancing markers. Social distancing will be visible inside lifts as there will be a limit on the number of people using it at a time. Along with social distancing markers, a lift operator will be present inside to ensure that people don't make contact with buttons that operate lifts. Though the Maharashtra government is still sceptical about opening up of malls, the managements across various malls in Mumbai Metropolitan Region feel that their malls are safe to start operations and are fully prepared to welcome their customers.
