NIRF Ranking 2019: Here are the top 5 universities in India

SUMMARY

The fourth edition of the Indian rankings based on educational institutes of the country and as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019 was announced on Monday by President Ram Nath Kovind. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, topped the national ranking, while IISc Bangalore and IIT-Delhi ranked second and third in the overall rankings of higher educational institutions. Of top 10 institutes, seven are IITs. The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) ranked seventh and 10th respectively. In the university category, IISc Bangalore has been ranked first followed by JNU and BHU. The ranking framework instituted in 2016, evaluates institutions on five broad generic groups of parameters, including Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Perception (PR).
