The farmer agitation that has rocked the country for over a month has created varying opinions across the country. While some believe the laws will bring the much-needed reforms to the now stagnant agriculture sector, others argue that the laws will put the farmers at the mercy of multi-national corporations. American pop singer Rihanna on Tuesday night posted a news link on India's farmers' protest and tweeted, "why aren't we talking about this?!"

Meena Harris, the niece of Vice-President Kamala Harris too came out in support of the farmers. "It's no coincidence that the world's oldest democracy was attacked not even a month ago, and as we speak, the most populous democracy is under assault. This is related.
