Introducing Kardian: The Renault Kardian is a compact, urban vehicle. It’s designed with Renault’s DNA, featuring a new style and the “Nouvel’R” logo. The front end displays a new lighting signature.
Modern Features: The Kardian boasts features usually found in higher-segment vehicles. These include 17-inch rims, a high console with an “e-shifter” gear selector, and MULTI-SENSE settings for different driving modes and eight ambient lighting options.
Safety First: The Renault Kardian is equipped with six airbags. It also has 13 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). These include a blind-spot warning system and a multi-view camera system.
Versatile Platform: The Kardian, which is 4.12 metres long, is the first of eight models that will launch between now and 2027 and sits on the new CMF modular platform. This platform is versatile and will allow the development of various models for non-European markets. Renault says there will be as many as eight models on this platform sold globally, primarily aimed at emerging markets.
Exterior Design: The Kardian sports a stylish exterior with split headlamps, chunky bumpers, and a large Renault signature double-layer grille. It has a rugged SUV look with faux aluminium inserts, a coupe-like body shell, and added ground clearance. The wheel arches and running boards feature chunky cladding.
Interior and Features: Inside, the Kardian has a stylish dashboard similar to other Renault SUVs. It includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a drive mode selector, and a four-spoke steering wheel. The interior features faux brushed aluminium and wood inserts with a mix of piano black, depending on the variant.
Innovative Mechanics: At launch, the Kardian will feature an innovative mechanical combination in South America. It will be launched with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine of 125 hp with 220 Nm of torque. This engine is coupled with an Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) automatic transmission.
Global Production: Renault will first produce the Kardian at the Curitiba plant in Brazil. Then, it will be produced at the Casablanca (SOMACA) plant in Morocco, thanks to our agile and flexible industrial system.
CEO’s Vision: Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of the Renault Brand, said, “With the Renault Brand International Game Plan 2027, we aim to transform the Renault brand worldwide by demonstrating a relentless commitment to delivering value to our customers. The Kardian – the first of eight models we will launch between now and 2027 – perfectly embodies this plan in the B segment, setting the stage for a broader offensive in the C and D segments.”
Product Performance: Bruno Vanel, VP of Renault Brand Product Performance, said, “Renault’s entire DNA and expertise are present in the Kardian, with the new design style and technologies that are innovative for the segment, useful and well-thought-out and bring considerable value to our customers. This vehicle clearly reinforces and modernises our B-segment range – first in Latin America, then in other markets such as Morocco.”
