Nissan’s New Release: Nissan, the renowned carmaker, has recently introduced two special editions of the GT-R. These are the T-spec Takumi Edition and the Skyline Edition. Both editions are limited-production models, celebrating the GT-R’s iconic status in Nissan’s lineup.
Takumi Edition Unveiled: The T-spec Takumi Edition is a tribute to the Takumi, or master craftsmen in Japan. These artisans hand-assemble each twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine for the GT-R. The Takumi Edition stands out with its unique Midnight Purple paint shade, reminiscent of the Skyline GT-Rs.
Unique Features: This edition also boasts a Mori Green interior. The engine features a red-etched badge, displaying the name of the assembler. A gold VIN plate further distinguishes this model. However, Nissan has yet to reveal the production numbers for these limited editions.
Enhanced Performance: The Takumi Edition mirrors the enhancements of the standard 2024 GT-R T-spec. It incorporates mechanical upgrades such as GT-R NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes and gold-painted RAYS 20-inch forged wheels. It also features NISMO-tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control and widened front fenders.
Skyline Edition: The Skyline Edition pays homage to the Skyline GT-Rs. It sports a Bayside Blue paint finish, a shade available up to the R34 Skyline GT-R. This colour was later revived for the 50th anniversary model in 2019.
Interior Details: The Skyline Edition’s interior is Sora Blue, creating a striking contrast with the exterior. This colour, known as Blue Heaven overseas, will also feature in the JDM version of the 2025 Nissan GT-R.
Limited Availability: Both the T-spec Takumi Edition and the Skyline Edition will be available in limited numbers. However, Nissan has not disclosed the exact production figures or the cost of these special editions.
Release Date: The release date for these special editions is expected to be announced this summer.
