Deadline to complete e-KYC for PM-KISAN scheme to end today: Check process
The Rajasthan government has set a deadline of January 31, 2024, for farmers and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana to complete their e-Know Your Customer (e-KYC) process. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in the termination of eligibility and suspension of the 16th instalment payment under the scheme.

This directive is not limited to Rajasthan alone. It applies nationwide to all beneficiaries of the PM-KISAN scheme.
The move is part of the government's efforts to streamline the disbursement process and ensure that benefits reach the intended recipients efficiently.
According to the Agriculture Department, farmers who have not yet completed Aadhaar seeding and land verification are also urged to do so promptly.
Failure to fulfil these requirements by the stipulated deadline may render farmers ineligible for the upcoming instalment.
The government made e-KYC mandatory for eligibility in December 2022, and the deadline has been extended to facilitate eligible farmers.
There are three modes of e-KYC available to PM-KISAN beneficiaries:
  • OTP-based e-KYC (accessible on the PM-KISAN portal and mobile app).
  • Biometric-based e-KYC (available at CSCs and State Seva Kendra).
  • Face authentication-based e-KYC (accessible on the PM-KISAN mobile app).
  • The e-KYC process involves these steps:
    • Visit the nearest e-Mitra or CSC centre.
    • Request online biometric authentication.
    • Present original documents and provide biometrics.
    • Submit the application, and the KYC process will be completed.
    • For those whose land details have not been verified, presenting relevant documents at the concerned Patwari Halka or Tehsil office is necessary.
This includes mentioning the list number, registration number, and mobile number.
The government is expected to release the 16th instalment of the PM-KISAN Yojana between February and March 2024. However, as of now, there is no official announcement regarding this.
The 15th instalment was released on November 15, 2023, under the scheme, which provides an annual financial benefit of ₹6,000 to landholding farmers' families in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each.
PM-KISAN is a central sector scheme designed to offer income support to all landholding farmers' families across the country, catering to their financial needs for agricultural inputs and domestic requirements.
The government bears the entire financial responsibility for transferring benefits to targeted beneficiaries under this scheme.
