Old Bridge Mutual Fund, sponsored by Old Bridge Capital Management, will make its foray into the mutual fund industry with its maiden new fund offer (NFO) on January 17. Known as Old Bridge Focused Equity Fund, the NFO will initially offer a three-day subscription window before becoming open-ended.

In an exclusive interview, Kenneth Andrade, Founder & CEO of Old Bridge Capital Management shed light on the investment strategy of the NFO, market perspective, and the company's future vision.
Expressing optimism about the current market environment, Andrade stated, "The environment has been reasonably robust. To be fair, you always get opportunities at every point in time in the market cycle."
Andrade underlined the company's consistent approach, having previously directed funds towards 25 businesses via alternative investments.
The upcoming equity fund is slated to engage with approximately 30 companies.
"Our investment structure and strategy so far through the alternatives has been allocating money to 25 businesses. We like to maintain the same profile as we launch a mutual fund out there," stated the CEO.
Andrade emphasised the company's constructive outlook, particularly in the context of newer companies entering manufacturing. He noted that many of these companies are targeting the international market, contributing to a significant increase in capacity to meet both international and domestic demand.
"If we're going to grow from here, the macro footprint has to grow for India," he asserted, suggesting that India needs to capture market share from the rest of the world to continue its growth trajectory.
Acknowledging the existing valuation challenges, Andrade remained positive, stating, "Every bull market creates the foundation for the next bull market."
He explained that Old Bridge Capital Management's focus has always been on identifying opportunities in sectors going through cyclical troughs, aligning with their strategy over the past two decades.
Commenting on portfolio management, Andrade emphasised the significance of focus, stating, "That's where we focus our attention towards—making it reasonably small, it's an easier to track portfolio, and 25 companies or 30 companies won't be very diversified."
The emphasis lies on concentrating investments in a select few businesses within the portfolio for a more focused and manageable approach.
