Top Dec quarter mutual Fund performers: ICICI Pru Bluechip dominates large cap, Nippon India Multicap leads in multicap

CRISIL, a financial research company, has recently published its report on Mutual Fund Rankings for the December quarter. The report highlighted the top-performing funds across various segments.

According to the report, ICICI Pru Bluechip continues to hold the top position in the largecap fund category, while Nippon India Multicap has emerged as the leader in the multicap segment.
Piyush Gupta, Director of Funds Research at CRISIL, discussed the findings in an interview with CNBC-TV18.
He mentioned that large-cap funds have witnessed increased investor interest, with a notable turnaround in inflows.
Gupta noted that while the large-cap category experienced negative inflows in the September quarter, there was a net inflow of ₹750 crore in the December quarter.
Regarding ICICI Pru Bluechip, Gupta highlighted its consistent performance, maintaining the top rank for four consecutive quarters.
"The fund has outperformed both the benchmark and the category across various timeframes, supported by its superior performance and lower volatility," he said.
Gupta also discussed the performance of other funds, such as JM Large Cap, and Taurus Large Cap.
JM Large Cap moved from rank two to rank one, with its portfolio focusing on public sector undertakings and auto stocks contributing to its improved performance.
Taurus Large Cap and Invesco India Large Cap both moved up in ranks, with Taurus benefiting from its exposure to reality stocks and public sector undertakings.
Apart from that, it has maintained high exposure to small-cap stocks, contributing to its superior performance.
