IndusInd Bank on Tuesday, November 7, introduced its latest offering, the 'IndusInd Bank Platinum RuPay Credit Card,' in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). With this credit card, customers will be able to engage in online and offline transactions through the RuPay network.

What sets this credit card apart is its integration with the UPI (Unified Payments Interface). Customers can link their credit cards to UPI-enabled apps, facilitating effortless payments. This integration will also empower users to earn rewards on their UPI transactions, IndusInd Bank said in a statement.
The credit card will offer flexibility in redeeming rewards too. Users will have the choice to convert their reward points into statement credit, airmiles, or explore a range of voucher options through 'IndusMoments.'
Speaking on the announcement, Soumitra Sen, Head – Consumer Banking and Marketing, IndusInd Bank, said, “Linking UPI to credit card is an amalgamation of convenience and features/benefits, all enhancing customer convenience
and payment experience."
Rajeeth Pillai, Chief Relationship Management & Marketing, NPCI, said, "RuPay has progressively established itself as a modern, contemporary, and vibrant brand, characterised by tailor-made value propositions supported by cutting-edge technology that ensures both wider acceptability and security."
With this offering, IndusInd Bank has joined the ranks of banks like Punjab National Bank, Union Bank, Indian Bank, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and BFSL in offering the RuPay Credit Card on the UPI platform.
RuPay Credit Cards on UPI empowers customers with an approach to credit card management. Users can link their credit card accounts from their issuer bank using their registered mobile number and engage in payment transactions. The process involves scanning a UPI QR code for making payments, with transaction authentication performed using a UPI PIN.
How to link RuPay credit card to UPI?
To link RuPay Credit Card to the UPI platform, follow these steps:
Step 1: Download the BHIM, PhonePe, Paytm, or Mobikwik app from the Google Play Store (for Android users) or the App Store (for iOS users).
Step 2: Complete the registration process as required by the chosen app.
Step 3: From the provided list, select the bank.
Step 4: Choose the specific RuPay Credit Card that is to be linked, considering all credit cards associated with the registered mobile number. Follow the steps to generate the UPI PIN.
