  • Steps to submit 'condonation request' for delay in ITR verification:
    If taxpayers forget to e-verify their ITR within the stipulated timeframe, they can follow these steps to submit a condonation request:
    • Navigate to the e-filing website.
    • Log in using the user ID and password.
    • Go to the 'Dashboard,' select 'Services,' and click on 'Condonation Request.'
    • Choose the 'Delay in submission of ITR-V' option.
    • Press 'Continue.'
    • Click on 'Create Condonation Request' and select the specific ITR record.
    • Enter the reason for the delay.
    • Press 'Submit.'
    • Upon successful submission, a transaction ID will be provided, and a confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number and email address.
      Filing condonation request for ITR 'after time-barred'

      • Upload supporting documents and press 'Submit.'
      • After successful submission, a transaction ID will be provided, along with a confirmation message on the registered email and phone number.
        Upon approval of the request by the Income Tax Department, taxpayers can proceed to submit their tax return.
