The income tax department has published a comprehensive tax calendar on its website, outlining the due dates for the month, which people should be aware of.
Let's take a look at the due dates:
February 7, 2024
It is the due date for the deposit of tax deducted/collected for the month of January 2024.
However, all the sum deducted/collected by an office of the government shall be paid to the credit of the Central Government on the same day when tax is paid without production of an income tax challan.
February 14, 2024
This is the deadline for issuing of tax deducted at source (TDS) certificate for tax deducted under sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M and 194S (by specified person) in December 2023
February 15, 2024
This is the due date for furnishing Form 24G by an office of the government where TDS/TCS for the month of January 2024 has been paid without the production of a challan.
Form 24G carries all the information of tax deducted at source (TDS). This information is later on submitted to the Drawing and Disbursement Officer (DDO) for further processing.
The quarterly TDS certificate (in respect of tax deducted for payments other than salary) for the quarter ending December 31, 2023, should also be submitted by this date.
