PM Modi to address rally in Hyderabad ahead of Telangana polls
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a public rally at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad on Saturday as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) outreach to Scheduled Caste (SC) communities ahead of the November 30 Telangana Assembly elections.

The rally is being organised by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), a community organisation of Madigas, one of the biggest constituents of scheduled castes in Telugu states.
This will be PM Modi’s second rally in a row in the city after the notification for the Telangana Assembly elections was announced on November 3.
MRPS has been demanding sub-categorisation of reservation for the Scheduled Caste communities for over three decades.
NV Subhash, BJP Telangana spokesperson, said that the Prime Minister will make some key announcements with respect to categorisation of SCs.
On November 7, PM Modi addressed a rally here — ”BC Atma Gourava Sabha” (Backwards classes self-respect meeting)- at the LB Stadium here. He promised that if voted to power in the November 30 Assembly polls, the BJP would make a person from the BC community the chief minister in Telangana.

Traffic advisories issues

The city police issued traffic advisories in connection with the meeting. The police said all road junctions in and around a three-km radius around Parade Ground is expected to face traffic congestion.
The city police asked motorists to avoid the road from Panjagutta to Secunderabad via Begumpet due to congestion on the thoroughfare as well as on roads surrounding the Parade Ground. The road between Tivoli Crossroads and Plaza Crossroads will also be shut.
The police also asked commuters to avoid MG Road, RP Road and SD Road between 2 pm and 10 pm today.
Also, passengers who want to travel by evening trains from Secunderabad railway station and by RTC buses at the Jubilee bus station should start early and also used the Metro Rail service.
Telangana is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and the Congress in the upcoming assembly polls.
In the previous Assembly election held in 2018, BRS managed to win 88 seats out of 119 and had a dominant vote share of 47.4%. Congress came in a distant second with 19 seats. Its vote share was 28.7%.
