SEPCO III is constructing this Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWWTP), with Va Tech WABAG serving as the Process And Technology Contractor.
The project is being developed by Miahona, a prominent PPP developer and operator of water and wastewater projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for Saudi Aramco, one of the world's largest integrated oil and gas companies.
The scope of work in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project involves designing, engineering, procuring, supplying, and supervising the installation and commissioning of the 20 million litres per day Industrial Wastewater Treatment plant, Va Tech WABAG said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
The plant is designed to treat a complex mixture of effluents from Desalter Effluent, Tank Farms, and other sources of Oily Wastewater in the refinery.
This project is scheduled to be completed within a 20-month period.
The project will utilise biological treatment, followed by Filtration and reverse osmosis technologies, to partially treat the effluent for reuse within the refinery.
Additionally, the treatment scheme includes implementing Wet Air Oxidation for treating Spent Caustic Effluent.
"This is another key breakthrough for us in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This order which is being delivered to Miahona and Saudi Aramco is a further testimony of Wabag’s technology leadership in the oil & gas sector and enables us to further cement our presence in the Middle East Region," Sivakumar V, Regional Head – Sales and Marketing said.
Shares of Va Tech WABAG were trading 4.2% higher at ₹688.45 apiece on BSE at 10:15 AM.
