Suzlon Energy Ltd. has won a 30 MW order to supply 10 wind turbines with a rated capacity of 3 MW each, it said in an exchange filing. The company has won the said order from EDF Renewables.
The project is based in Gujarat with a total installed capacity of 30 MW and the electricity generated from this project will be supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd., the company said.
A project of this size can provide electricity to 24,000 households and curb 97,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions every year, as per the exchange filing.
The said order is a repeat order for Suzlon's largest turbine series, the S144-140m with a 3 MW rating.
Along with project execution, which includes supply, supervision, erection and commissioning, Suzlon will also undertake post-commissioning operations and maintenance services.
"The power generated from this project will serve the people of Gujarat with clean, green, renewable power," said Suzlon Group CEO JP Chalasani.
The manufacturer of Wind turbines reported a 160% jump in its quarterly net profit compared to the same period last year for the October-December period.
"For quarter four, certainly, I think we would be able to do numbers, which are better than quarter three, that has been the historical trend. We are quite likely to continue with that trend. We maintain that, typically in H1, we do about 35 to 40% of our volumes, and about 60 to 65% comes from H2. So we maintain that," CFO Himanshu Mody told CNBC-TV18 in an interaction earlier this month.
Shares of Suzlon Energy are trading 3.1% lower at ₹41.85. The stock has corrected 17.3% from its recent peak of ₹50.6.
