Sula Vineyards on Monday, March 4, said it would be opening its first ever tasting room and bottle shop outside its wineries and near the airport in the first quarter of the upcoming fiscal.
The new tasting room would be Sula's fourth. It will be located on the Mumbai-Agra highway near the Nashik Airport and HAL Ozar, "thus catering to the fast-growing demand from the regions north and east of Nashik," the company said.
Sula's CEO Rajeev Samant said this is a new chapter for the company, where it envisions more Sula tasting rooms across the country. "Plans are already in the works to open a fifth tasting room in the second half of the 2024-25 fiscal year," he said.
The company is also looking forward to a record 2024 grape harvest. "The 2024 grape harvest is shaping up to be excellent in quantity as well as quality for a fourth consecutive year, with the wine grape harvest setting a new record of over 10,500 tonne," the company said in a stock exchange filing.
Sula's COO Karan Vasani said the harvest is excellent, with red grapes comprising 65% of the total wine grapes. "This signifies a notable shift from five years ago when red grapes constituted 55% of the total, reflecting India's increasing preference in red wines. Syrah and Chenin Blanc are the top two varieties in this harvest," he said.
On another note, the company said that in February it was on the 11th spot on the most-Instagrammed wine brands worldwide.
Sula Vineyards shares were trading 1.87% higher at ₹567 apiece at 11.30 am on Monday, March 4.
