Indian equity markets are closed today, September 19, on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. No trading will take place on Dalal Street today. Trading will resume on Wednesday, September 20.
Indian markets ended Monday's session lower, only the second drop for the Nifty 50 in the September F&O series. However, the index managed to hold on to the 20,100 mark.
After today's holiday, Indian equity markets will be shut next on October 2, which happens to be a Monday on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Post this holiday, the next set of holidays will fall on Dusshera on October 24 and then the Diwali days in November.
There will be a customary one-hour Mahurat trading session during the Diwali days, the timelines for which are not specified yet.
