Sundaram Mutual Fund is expecting a huge amount of unlocking of value in the real estate space going forward, said S Krishna Kumar, CIO-Equity at Sundaram MF.
According to Kumar, there is a lot of money to be made in cyclical sectors, be it material space or metal products including cement.
He believes the domestic infrastructure story has huge scope. “All of us have seen the issues plaguing the infrastructure from a funding perspective on the cost of funds and delays. Today we are seeing that the tenders have more than 60 percent of the current year on a year-on-year (YoY) basis. There is a huge amount of improvement that is happening in the infrastructure construction space too,” he said.
Kumar expects to see 20 percent earnings per share (EPS) growth for Nifty in FY22. “We are not worried about the outflows. It is just a matter of time when the domestic investors will get a little more interested in the equities again,” he said.
In terms of the PLI scheme, he said, “The government is trying to work its way around helping and enabling growth in sectors where we have established or shown some competitive stabilities at a global level. Some of the industries are geared for that like auto components and automobiles.”
