Engineering and Infrastructure conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Ltd.'s construction division secured a 'large' order from the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).
While L&T does not disclose the specific order value, it classifies those orders that range between Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore as 'large' orders.
The transportation infrastructure vertical of L&T Construction will be constructing the 4.5 km-long bridge connecting Dahisar and Bhayander in the city. The project is said to reduce travel time between both locations, which at the moment takes over 45 minutes.
"The 4.5 km link will have two separate carriageways and multi-level interchange and Dahisar and Bhayander for seamless entry and exit. The project will also have two large navigational spans along the creek," the company informed the stock exchanges.
The company is already executing two packages of the Mumbai Coastal Road projects for the MCGM.
Last week, Larsen & Toubro's heavy civil infrastructure business vertical has won an order worth over Rs 7,000 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
The project is to design an underground road tunnel project between Orange Gate, Eastern freeway to marive drive Coastal Road in Mumbai, the company informed the stock exchanges.
The project is expected to be completed within 54 months.
Shares of L&T are off the day's low, currently trading little changed at Rs 3,027.45.
