Larsen & Toubro on Wednesday, March 13 said its buildings and factories vertical has bagged a 'significant' order from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Madurai, in Tamil Nadu.
The order is under the ministry of health and family welfare's PMSSY division.
As per L&T's classification, an order in the range of ₹1,000 crore to ₹2,000 crore falls under the 'significant' category.
The company will be constructing a 720-bed hospital, 150-bed infectious diseases block, 30-bed AYUSH block, 150-seat medical college, nursing college, 750-seater auditorium, hostel and residential facilities, it said in a stock exchange filing. The project will be executed within 33 months and the total built up area is 2.1 million square feet.
"The scope of work involves civil structure, finishes MEP services and external development, including landscaping," the company said.
On another note, last week, L&T commissioned its first indigenously manufactured hydrogen electrolyser at the green hydrogen plant in Hazira, Gujarat. The company said this signified L&T Electrolyser Ltd's foray into the domestic electrolyser manufacturing.
Last week, the company was also awarded a 'major' contract for the supply of high power radars (HPR) to the Indian Air Force. The total value of the contract was worth over ₹13,000 crore.
L&T shares were trading 0.71% lower at ₹3,596.05 apiece at 10.30 am on March 13. The stock has gained 8.35% in the past month, 23.77% in the last six months and 68.68% in the past year.
