The benchmark indices pared losses and ended higher on Tuesday after Nifty closed continued to close above 11,650 level.
Sensex closed at 38,939.22 up by 238.69 points while Nifty closed at 11,672 up by 67.50 points. Around 1,152 shares advanced, 1,370 shares declined and 148 shares remained unchanged.
All sectors closed in green except media. Banking, realty and auto sectors rose the most.
