The industrial drone solutions provider, in an exchange filing, stated that it has received a contract from the department of military affairs under the defence ministry for drone pilot training.
The contract highlights the growing importance of First Person View (FPV) drones and their rising adoption by the Indian military for tactical missions, the company stated in the filing.
The 15-day training programme will cover theory sessions, simulator training and practical on-ground drone flying. Candidates will receive certificates on completing the programme.
The drone startup recently announced the launch of a FPV Drone, which is equipped with day and night vision capabilities and has been designed specifically for Defence applications.
It stated that the FPV Drone underwent rigorous testing and trials in strategic locations such as Pokhran and Lachung. The trials showed the drone's resilience in adverse conditions and proved to be a tactical asset for the defence forces.
The company this month also announced its entry into the Southeast Asian market by opening an office in Thailand's capital Bangkok. The move will help the company expand its reach in sales, services, and training throughout Southeast Asia.
Expanding its footprint in drone training, the company last month announced a deal to acquire 76% shareholding in Aerophile Academy Pvt Ltd. Aerophile Academy is a leading drone pilot training centre in South India and is certified by DGCA. The company had bagged contracts from the Indian military for drone training in recent months.
It also bagged its first order of supply of Agricultural Spraying Drones from Vimaan Aerospace last month.
DroneAcharya Aerial shares hit a high of ₹160.80 per share on BSE in morning deals. However, the stock gave up gains and was trading 1.54% lower at 153 apiece at 11.30 am.
