“The quarter did not begin great, but April has been a fantastic month. The trends have generally been towards investment grade jewellery,” Kaigaonkar said on Tuesday.
“The wedding season is coming and people will align their buying with Akshaya Tritiya so it is more auspicious. Wedding buying is something that is not related to today’s economic condition or anything of the sort. People save for it over the years. So that is something that will remain steady,” she added.
Talking about the gold trends among youths, Kaigaonkar said, “Just for the sake of investments, the younger people are going for ETFs and things like that, but right now is a global insecurity time when people want to hold on to their gold and keep it with themselves. The jewellery choices of these younger are diamond jewellery which is also investment grade.”
