Wednesday's pre-market block window was buzzing with activity as five companies - Astral, Nippon AMC, Shriram Pistons & Rings, Embassy REIT and Tips Industries, saw large trades taking place.
Over 25 crore shares of these five companies exchanged hands in deals valued at nearly ₹10,000 crore.
Here are the block deals that took place:
Astral
The transaction took place at a price of ₹1,889.8 per share, which amounts to a total transaction value of ₹885 crore.
CNBC-TV18 had reported on Tuesday citing sources that promoters of Astral are looking to sell between 2% and 3% stake in the company via block deals. The promoter entities likely to sell stake were Saumya Polymers and Kairav Chemicals.
Shares of Astral are trading 1.2% higher at ₹1,931.
Shriram Pistons
Shares of the industrial machinery parts manufacturer exchanged hands at a price of ₹1,103.6 per share.
The stock of Shriram Pistons & Rings are locked in an upper circuit of 5% at ₹1,158.75.
Embassy REIT
CNBC-TV18 had reported that the global private equity giant Blackstone Group is likely to sell the remaining 23.5% stake in Embassy Office Parks REIT (real estate investment trust) through a block deal.
Shares of Embassy REIT are off the day's low and are currently trading flat at ₹335.50. The stock is also flat so far in 2023.
Nippon AMC
CNBC-TV18 had reported on Tuesday that IndusInd Bank, the Mumbai-based private lender is likely to execute a clean out trade by selling its remaining 2.8% stake via block deal.
Nippon AMC was also part of CNBC-TV18's dealing room chatter on December 14, where it was reported that a large block deal may take place in the stock, in which a strategic investor can be a seller.
Shares of Nippon Life AMC are trading 6.3% higher at a record high of ₹477.05. The stock is up 90% so far in 2023.
Tips Industries
Lastly, Tips Industries saw 6.7% equity or 85.82 lakh shares worth ₹299 crore change hands in a large trade.
The shares exchanged hands at a price of ₹344 per share.
Shares of Tips Industries are off the day's low but are trading 3.2% lower at ₹353.85.
