The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to file an affidavit on projected vaccine requirement, oxygen availability, and steps taken to ensure availability of essential drugs.
The apex court was hearing a suo moto case on crucial issues surrounding the pandemic.
The court said that while its purpose was not to supplant or substitute hearings undertaken by various high courts, it cannot remain a mute spectator during a national crisis.
