Nagarnar plant will produce steel from June 2019, NMDC says
N Baijendra Kumar, chairman and MD of NMDC discussed a host of issues concerning the company's Nagarnar plant and the 10 percent buyback of its shares by Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM).
NMDC is expected to commission its steel plant in Nagarnar by the end of this fiscal year, N Baijendra Kumar, chairman and managing director, NMDC said.
“We are in the completion stages of Nagarnar steel plant and will be able to start our blast furnace in another three-four months of this financial year. All the linkages have been worked out,” he said, adding, steel production is likely to begin from June of next year.
On NMDC's disinvestment plan, Kumar said, "The government has put it on hold for the time being."
