Confident that Jaypee acquisition will be positive for NBCC, says CMD Mittal

NBCC stock is in focus lately after the public-sector company bagged a slew of new projects amounting to Rs 800 crore in February. Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD of NBCC, spoke about the new projects and business plans.
"These are miscellaneous orders we received from central government. The order book will be at Rs 95,000 crore by the end of March," Mittal said on Thursday.
When asked about the Amrapali project, Mittal said, “We have been asked by the Supreme Court to complete the project on project management consultancy (PMC) model and not by taking over. Therefore, it will not come on our balance sheet as debt or anything.”
Talking about Jaypee Infra, he said, “As far as Jaypee Infratech is concerned, it’s a company we bid in NCLT proceedings. It’s an immature stage to give numbers but when a public sector company like NBCC has thought of bidding the company, so all the shareholders must be confident that when we will take over this company, it will give a different kind of margins to topline, bottom line and overall business prospects.”
