Aluminium demand in India strong enough at 8-10%, says Nalco

In what could come as big support for domestic manufacturers of aluminium products, the government is said to be in favour of an import duty hike.

Discussing the impact, TK Chand, CMD of National Aluminium Company (NALCO) said that primary aluminium producers are in favour of hiking the import duty.

Aluminium association need import duty on downstream products that are being diverted from China, he said.
